Psalm 4

Psalm Chapter 4
1Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.2O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.3But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.4Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.5Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.6There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.7Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.8I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

There’s Life In A Look

1 There’s life in a look at the sacred cross,
Jesus has said, “Look unto me;”
Earth with its riches is only dross,
Bright treasures beyond in the cross I see.

Chorus:
In a look there’s life for thee,
In a look at Calvary;
Blessed thought, Salvation free,
By a look at Calvary.

2 When first to the Saviour I raised my eyes,
Sweet was the smile that fell on me;
Oft as the clouds of temptation rise,
A look at the cross still my strength shall be.

[Chorus]

3 I’ll look to the cross ev’ry day and hour,
Trusting the promise God has given;
None ever fall neath the tempter’s pow’r,
Who trust and obey in the strength of Heav’n.

[Chorus]

Study Daniel And Revelation Together

Study Daniel And Revelation Together, November 23

Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days. Daniel 10:14. CTr 334.1Daniel identified himself with Israel’s sins, and confessed their sins as his own. He prayed, “O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.” Yet Gabriel, the heavenly messenger, thrice called him a man greatly beloved…. CTr 334.2How can we but see how closely the universe of heaven is connected with this fallen world! These communications given to Daniel should fill our souls with awe, with humility, with meekness, and lay our pride low in the dust…. CTr 334.3A wonderful connection is here seen between the universe of heaven and this world. The things revealed to Daniel were afterward complemented by the revelation made to John on the isle of Patmos. These two books should be carefully perused. Twice Daniel inquired, How long shall it be to the end of time? “And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand…. But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.” CTr 334.4It was the Lion of the tribe of Judah who unsealed the book and gave to John the revelation of what should be in these last days. Daniel stood in his lot to bear his testimony, which was sealed until the time of the end, when the first angel’s message should be proclaimed to our world. These matters are of infinite importance in these last days…. The book of Daniel is unsealed in the revelation to John, and it carries us forward to the last scenes of this earth’s history. CTr 334.5The case of Daniel reveals to us the fact that the Lord is always ready to hear the prayers of the contrite soul, and when we seek the Lord with all our hearts, He will answer our petitions. Here is revealed where Daniel obtained his skill and understanding; and if we will only ask of God wisdom, we may be blessed with increased ability, and with power from heaven. If we will come to God just as we are, and pray to Him in faith as did Daniel, we shall see of the salvation of God. We need to pray as we never prayed before.—Letter 59, 1896 (Manuscript Releases 18:14-16). CTr 334.6

A Scavenger bird

It’s interesting, it’s educative, it’s satisfactory to my soul, it’s also tiring, I came,I saw,I read, its going time, birds sound outside but their sound is low, it’s like they are bored…. unlike the birds at our country side home, which are more zealous, with much more energy and enthusiasm, I even heard one laughing!!! when I was there, And I was amazed!!!, But I remember, a sad incidence when one of those scavenger bird fly fast and picked up a big chick, it actually was struggling to lift it up, surprisingly, it managed to carry it along with it. It was unfortunate for the mother hen and a shock to the other chicks. Probably the Scavenger bird was carrying ‘food’ to feed it’s family and was smiling all the way to it’s nest, while on the other side, there was morning and gnashing of the beak to the hen and it’s diminishing family…… Life……can be so cruel, so unfair!!!

We May Receive God’s Unlimited Grace to Do Good

We May Receive God’s Unlimited Grace, to Do Good, November 23
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:11, NKJV. BLJ 344.1
We are all under obligation to deny self daily for Christ’s sake. Jesus says, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me”; “whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.” BLJ 344.2
As we call upon God at every step, pleading for divine wisdom as we advance, seeking for light and grace in order that under all and in every circumstance we shall do unto others as we would that they should do unto us were we in their place, we shall feel the necessity of fulfilling the broad and deep requirements of the holy law of God. Thus shall we lose sight of self, and looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, we shall lay upon the foundation deeds of mercy, benevolence, compassion, and love, which are compared to gold, silver, and precious stones, which the fires of the last days cannot consume. BLJ 344.3
The Lord Jesus is our efficiency in all things; His Spirit is to be our inspiration; and as we place ourselves in His hands to be channels of light, our means of doing good will never be exhausted; for the resources of the power of Jesus Christ are to be at our command. We may draw upon His fullness, and receive of that grace which has no limit. The Captain of our salvation at every step would teach us that almighty power is at the demand of living faith. He says, “Without me ye can do nothing”; but again declares that “greater works than these shall [ye] do; because I go unto my Father.” BLJ 344.4
We are to pray without ceasing. In supplicating the throne of grace in the name of Christ, the promise is sure, “Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name; ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” When you make God your trust, when you call upon Him with your whole heart, He will be found of you. “Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.”—The Review and Herald, October 30, 1894. BLJ 344.

Are you weary

                 Are you weary

1 Are you weary, are you heavy-hearted?
Tell it to Jesus,
Tell it to Jesus;
Are you grieving over joys departed?
Tell it to Jesus alone.

                     Chorus:

Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus,
He is a friend that’s well known;
You’ve no other such a friend or brother,
Tell it to Jesus alone.

2 Do the tears flow down your cheeks unbidden?
Tell it to Jesus,
Tell it to Jesus;
Have you sins that to men’s eyes are hidden?
Tell it to Jesus alone.

                      Chorus

3 Do you fear the gath’ring clouds of sorrow?
Tell it to Jesus,
Tell it to Jesus;
Are you anxious what shall be tomorrow?
Tell it to Jesus alone.

                      Chorus

4 Are you troubled at the thought of dying?
Tell it to Jesus,
Tell it to Jesus;
For Christ’s coming kingdom are you sighing?
Tell it to Jesus alone.

                      Chorus

124 – Umechoka, Je Umesumbuka?
“Are You Weary?

1
Umechoka, je, umesumbuka? Mwambie Yesu sumbuko lako;
Unayalilia yapitayo? Mwambie Yesu pekee.

Chorus
Mwambie Yesu, sumbuko lako, Yu rafiki amini,
Hakuna rafiki kama yeye, Mwambie Yesu pekee.

2
Je, machozi ya kulengalenga? Mwambie Yesu sumbuko lako;
Wamelemewa na dhambi rohoni? Mwambie Yesu pekee.

3
Waogopa shida na majonzi, Mwambie Yesu sumbuko lako;
Wasumbukia mambo yajayo? Mwambie Yesu pekee.

4
Kuwazia kifo kukutisha? Mwambie Yesu sumbuko lako;
Watamania ufalme wake? Mwambie Yesu pekee.

Good And Evil Angels Always Present

Good And Evil Angels Always Present, November 22For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world. Ephesians 6:12. CTr 333.1Angels from heaven communicate with the human family, and not one of us by anything we can do may uphold or keep ourselves. We are where we are, kept every moment by the power of God. I have thought that we do not make the ministration of heavenly angels as important as we should…. What would we do without them? I want you to consider what kind of position we should be left in if we had not the ministry of holy angels…. CTr 333.2We meet the opposition of men and women, but there is someone behind that opposition. It is the prince of the powers of darkness, with his evil angels, who is constantly at work…. Who is it that is ruling the world today? And who is it that has chosen to stand under the banner of the prince of darkness? Why, it is nearly the whole world at large. All the world that has not accepted Jesus Christ has chosen for their leader the prince of darkness, and just as soon as they stand under his banner, they have connection with evil angels. CTr 333.3Either the evil angels or the angels of God are controlling all human minds…. Every provision has been made; everything in God’s plan has been arranged so that we should not be left to our own impulses, to our own finite powers, to carry on the warfare against the powers of darkness in our own finite strength, because we would certainly fail if we were thus left to ourselves…. CTr 333.4In the Psalm David speaks of God’s being a refuge and a strong tower, a refuge and a fortress; unto Him we can run and we can be saved. How precious is the thought that God is our refuge and that He will be our helper in all times and in all places, and that in every emergency we have God with us. He says that He will give His angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways…. In our God we have a helper, and we will trust in Him. We must constantly look in that direction, believing that the angels of God are round about us, and that heaven is in communication with us, because these heavenly messengers are ascending and descending upon the ladder of shining brightness…. CTr 333.5How is it with us? Are we standing with the whole armor on, so that we can work in harmony with the angels of God who are working for us? If we separate ourselves from these angels by taking our own course of action, then we place ourselves where the wicked one can tempt us.—Manuscript 1, 1890 (Sermons and Talks, 2:57-59). CTr 333.6
