Spiritual Emphasis Week
1 I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
O the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!
There are depths of love that I yet may know
Ere Thee face to face I see;
There are heights of joy that I yet may reach
Ere I rest in peace with Thee.
144 – Ni Wako Bwana
“I Am Thine O Lord”
Ni wako, Bwana, ninasikia Unaponena nami;
Lakini, kweli, nataka kwako Nizidi kusongea:
Bwana vuta, (vuta) nije nisongee Sana kwako mtini.
Bwana, vuta, vuta, nije nisongee Pa damu ya thamani.
Niweke sasa nikatumike Kwa nguvu za neema;
Uyapendayo nami nipende Nizidi kukwandama.
Nina furaha tele kila saa Nizungumzapo nawe;
Ninanena kama kwa rafiki Nikipiga magoti.

Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
— It’s not good when you forsake God
- The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.3. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
31And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:32But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
4He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.5After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.6Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?7Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.8Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.9Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
54Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off.55And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.56But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.57And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.58And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.59And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.60And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.61And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.62And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
33 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
47And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.48But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?49When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?50And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.51And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
22And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.23And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.24But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.25And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.26And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.27But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.28And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.29And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.30But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.31And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
When you keep focused on Jesus, you will not sink but you will be walking on water
The grace of God is sufficient for us.
What did you do in your life that made someone to know God, this will determine your going to heaven.
36Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.37And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.38Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.39And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.40And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?41Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.42He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.43And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.44And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.45Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
18And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.20Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
